Last Saturday I was visited by my brother in law's brother (Fr. Monet) who was on his holiday here in England. It was great to see someone from the Philippines and converse in my language again. Though they ddin't stay that long here in Canterbury, we managed to let them see a bit of the city. And since father Monet is a priest, he was keen to visit the famous Canterbury cathedral. I haven't been in there since I came here so last Saturday I had the chance to get in the cathedral and see the beauty of it in my own eyes w/out paying £8.hehe..And today I am going sharing it to you.
This is the front are of the cathedral, the entrance bit after you pay.
And this is the front side view, the entrace to get in the cathedral.
And this is the sculptures and carvings above the entrance door as you can see in the photo above. Very fantastic and perfect work of art.
And this is the inside where you can worship and attend service. And straight that way is where the actual service is held and more to see with your £8.
Closer look of the magnificent ceilings and post.
This is the ceiling of the hallway of that photo above. With England flag designs, and looks like a little shield to me as well.Lovely isn't it? I'll show you more of the inside bits of the cathedral next week. Hope you enjoy the tour!
