Toadstool

Photobucket
I had a fabulous weekend last week. It was a long day and many things to share, and of those is this lovely food we had. This was requested by the birthday girl Miss Emilia Bradley (SIL's daughter). It was her birthday last 20th of January and we had a late celebration last Saturday. We went tempin bowling and had a great party food in the evening. And we had this toadstool which is a hard boiled egg and plum tomato and gruyere (swiss cheese). It looks really clever doesn't it? It taste good too, you can try make it, so easy and fun! I'm sure your kids will like it too..

Sharing this in Ruby Tuesday hosted by Mary at Work of the Poet! Thanks for dropin!

I've Got Mail

My usual Friday morning happened again today, got to see grandpa, went foodie shopping with MIL.Except from the weather I would say it's a good day. As we came home from shopping MIL said "Roxxy, you've got mail.." oh whom it from I didn't know until I opened it. Ashbourne Senior Living, oh yeah..it's from the nursing home I've applied last year. Bit apprehensive but as soon as I read the letter, I was so delighted of the  news, they've given me the job!Yay! I'll start my work as a carer as soon as they received my Criminal Records certificate (hopefully soon). I'll be on probation for 3 months so I have to be great at my job. I will get a decent pay and 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum =) . Thank you so much Lord for another blessing! Indeed they say, good things happen to those who wait.. I promise to do my job well, give the best care I can to those people I'll be nursing and I pray that everything will be well. That I'll be able to get along well with my  work colleagues to be and employers. And that I'll be able to manage my time well with work and my bunny. Be with us as we find a house, that we'll both like in a desirable and safe area (near to my work) for us. Amen..

The Canterbury Cathedral

Last Saturday I was visited by my brother in law's brother (Fr. Monet) who was on his holiday here in England. It was great to see someone from the Philippines and converse in my language again. Though they ddin't stay that long here in Canterbury, we managed to let them see a bit of the city. And since father Monet is a priest, he was keen to visit the famous Canterbury cathedral. I haven't been in there since I came here so last Saturday I had the chance to get in the cathedral and see the beauty of it in my own eyes w/out paying £8.hehe..And today I am going sharing it to you.

This is the front are of the cathedral, the entrance bit after you pay.

And this is the front side view, the entrace to get in the cathedral.
And this is the sculptures and carvings above the entrance door as you can see in the photo above. Very fantastic and perfect work of art.
And this is the inside where you can worship and attend service. And straight that way is where the actual service is held and more to see with your £8.
Closer look of the magnificent ceilings and post.

This is the ceiling of the hallway of that photo above. With England flag designs, and looks like a little shield to me as well.Lovely isn't it? I'll show you more of the inside bits of the cathedral next week. Hope you enjoy the tour!

My SIL likes gardening, she likes all sorts of flowers same as my PIL they like gardening as well and they have a lovely garden here at their house. And these lovely flowers are called Oriental poopies. They are in orange, peachy colour and pink ones.
