Our Weekend Away

How's your long weekend guys? Have you had the perfect weather for it? Or have you had an inconsistent weather like we had here in England? :D
My husband and I had a great weekend. We went away for my cousins wedding in Eastleigh, Southampton. It was where my husband studied for University so he know the place pretty much. We stayed 2 nights in the hotel nearby my cousin's house, the church for the wedding and reception, so it was a very sensible hotel to stay.

Breakfast, most favourite meal of the day if I am staying in a hotel..Why? Cos it means full English breakfast with choices of fruit juices, fresh fruits and freshly baked breads like my all time favourite pan au chocolat.

And here's what you call full English breakfast. Sausage, bacons, beans, mushrooms, roast tomatoes, egg and hash brown. What a great meal to start your day! *wink*

How about you guys, how did you spend your weekend? Oh not long now and its gonna be weekend again!  :D

♥ Cooked with Love ♥

One of the hard part of me living in England is when I crave for my native Filipino foods. I'm like a silly little kid sulking in the corner, pissed off with my husband cos I can't eat what I crave like KBL (kadyos, baboy, langka), Pinakbet, ginataang langka na may tuyo, nilaga, green mango with shrimp paste, bopis, sisig and more.Whew..slurp! I seem to crave for them lately and surely I could try to cook them but unfortunately there's not much choice for the ingredients!!! A pain in the A--!
I seem to miss my Mama more if I looked at the photos of my 24th birthday which I spent last year in the Philippines. So all the choice of  food was mine, cooked with love by my Mama *wink* Here are some yummy food photos to share:

A pose with the food *wink*

Bihon and Valeciana..Makes me hungry now :(

And it's time to enjoy the food.. :) How I miss this moment and ang luto ni Mama
I can say that my Mama cooks best! *wink*

Roasted Turkey

Photobucket

Here comes yummylicious Sunday again! My yummy entry for this week is this meaty roast turkey we had on Christmas last year. If we Filipinos likes lechon in such occasion, traditionally Britons have turkey on their table for their Christmas dinner. They have it with gravy, and put sausagemeat  inside the turkey which is so yum yum! Last year was my first Christmas here in England, I really enjoyed the traditional English Christmas dinner with Christmas crackers! *smile*

Perfect Combination

Photobucket

Since I came here in England, I haven't had a taste of beer anymore. Aside from the fact that hunnybunch doesn't like it, people here are more keen on wines especially in special occasions. Unlike in my country, beer is very popular, it is everybody's favourite and I think most consumers are students!Anyways since I can't find a beer that suits my taste like San Miguel light or redhorse (hehe), Bunny introduced me this alcohol drink called "Cider". It is made of apple or pear and it is absolutely yummy to drink especially for the ladies. It is not as heavy or as strong as beer cos it is made of fruit whilst beer is made of rice. And oh I found a perfect nibble for it (pulutan)  sweet and spicy crispy squid from an Oriental shop. Perfect combination  whilst watching an episode of CSI! Yum! (wink)

An entry for this week's Yummy Sunday! Have a Great week!

Our Valentines Day Dinner

Yummylicious Sunday! If I'm not mistaken I think it's my first time to join in this meme. Or maybe not, not sure.(hehe) Anyways I wanna share our yummy Valentines dinner which my PIL arranged last Monday preferably my mother in law, I helped her a bit.lol..

Photobucket

We had dine in for two from Marks and Spencer which is for £20.00 you will have a starter, main course, side dish, pudding, bottle of wine and a box chocolate! So we had salmon mouse for starter (that was yummy!), lamb chop with pine nuts, meatballs, spicy potato and chips side dish and MIL made some fresh vege and a bottle of white wine. And of course for pudding we had lemon souffle and chocolate melted something, can't remember but it was yummy. I like our table setting and the purple carnation flower centre piece with candle light, to make it more romantic! We had a fantastic Valentines dinner to end it up with, thanks to my PIL! =)

My entry for Yummy Sunday! Have a delicious week!

Our Wedding Cake

This is our amazing wedding cake made by Jay Squirre whos is my hunny's cousin's fiancee. She's a chef so she had this as their gift for us. their wedding will be this October as well. Anyways as you can see it is a 3 layered cake which can serve up to 100-120 guests. My hunny and I chosed chocolate wedding cake rather than a traditional fruit cake bcos we both love chocolate. It's a Belgian chocolate with thorntons difierent flavoured chocolates at the top as you can see.It was so yummy and we all enjoyed it! Hope our marriage life will as sweet as our wedding cake in years to come!

Our Last Night Dinner in Bakewell

Hmmm..Friday is yummy! Food.food, food, food.Always an interesting and inspiring topic.Saw a lot of filipino food in this blog Food Trip Friday and it made me miss it more. Anyways most of the food I'll share here will be obviously English Food.

This is a bowl of nachos we ordered as our appetizer and my bunny is holding the sauce while I took the photo. It is a huge portion and we have one bowl each and as always I didn't finished mine. I ust asked the waitress if we could take it away cos I fancied eating it while watching tele. She said yes and took the nachos but never came back nor reminded us until we left!

This..this was the main course my hunnybunny ordered. It is a typical English food as you can see it has peas, lettuce, big mushrooms (which is not really visible here in the photos), plum tomatoes, onions, onion rings and chips. It is a huge portion and by the way it goes with a sizzling steak just not included when I took the photo. My bunny didn't finished eating it all because it is really a huge plate and a lot on it.We both had the steak so that's just the only one we finished.

And this, this was my order. Stir fry with rice. Oh dear I was very disappointed with this. I was expecting the stir fry that my mother inlaw is always cooking. You know, something with broccoli on it, chicken, courgettes, a good portion and variety of veggies as I say. But with this I ended up with just a little mushroom, courgettes and the 3 clours of peppers (green, red and orange). It was a shame and decreased my appetite really. And expectedly, I didn't finished it.

Tomatoes in the Garden

My parents inlaw went to a holiday last week and  before they left they gave us a list on what to do's while they're away. One of that is to water their tomato plant. So I am left with that  responsibility  since James is working. My mother inlaw showed me how to do it before she left, 2 scoop of tomato food in a watering can.I enjoyed doing it in a week already and so while I did watering this morning I spotted this ripe tomatoes. I was so excited to pick it but I said I'll wait for James to arrived from work before picking. Thought of having it for lunch already..hehe. I love tomatoes specifically raw tomatoes, I don't like it when it's cooked. I thought of growing tomatoes too when we have our own house and I can grow it in our own garden.

Found this helpful tips on how to grow tomatoes
