DIY Dilemma

google photo
After 2 exhausting days at work I was glad Wednesday came, my day off. Although I still have to wake up early (means before 10am..lol) I'm glad I'm somewhere not from work. *wink*. We started our day later than we anticipated. Mama got on-line a bit late so we didn't leave till after 12pm.
We arrived in our house just in time for lunch and the plumber to have arrived. We asked him to fit a few bathroom accessories and tomorrow he's coming back to fit the bath screen to furnished our bathroom.
I am so happy and pleased of the progress of our house. Thanks to my parents in-law who's been helping us all these time. Now, moving in to our house soon looks and sounds promising.
I want this DIY works to be over soon. Aside from wanting to live in a fully furnished, renovated house sooner,I want this DIY stress out of my life too!I want my life back..(sigh). Well I mean, not to wake up early any more on my weekends day off cos we need to get to the house early, be able to enjoy Saturdays with my hunny, give a break to my PIL as well, would be great to move in so I could just walk in to work as petrol in soaring high, have peace of mind and get away with endless expenses.!
Anyhow I am still thankful despite all my moaning..lol. I've learned a lot from this experience and had a great time working with my parents in-law. There's still some work to do but I am positive about as we've already finished the hard bit. Little by little and in time we be able to finally see the fruit of our labour, our DREAM HOUSE..*wink* Thank you GOD for all of these! Whew! DIY dilemma you'll be over soon!

WE Need D.I. Y. Skills

The thought of finally moving to our own house soon excites me a lot. But nevertheless the refurbishment thought worries me a little bit cos of the few things we need to get to make the house habitable for us. And of course watching those property development program here, I am well aware of the cost and mind you it is expensive! I have a bit of experience with house refurbishment as I did it once when hunny and I renovated our house in the Philippines so we have our own place when he visits me. But although that's the case, the costs of the materials here, furniture's and especially the labour of builders or plumbers are more expensive than it is in the Philippines. And so because of that, people here are more on D.I.Y (Do it Yourself) when they are renovating their houses, unless there's major renovation that's when they get builders or plumbers. In our case we might need the skills of a plumber to do our dated bathroom and wc. That's the very first thing we are keen to do before moving. I always have this weird dream being trapped in a filthy bathroom or toilet, and I tell it's always a nightmare for me. So I told my hunny I can live with anything, dated kitchen and wallpapers but not a filthy toilets/bathroom! We have a lot to tackle but with the bathroom and wc renovated, the rest are all DIY skills which I hope my husband I will learn as we go along the work. Might ask some friends help and of course my in-law/ parents in-law are here to help us (bless). Hopefully there would be no major renovations aside from the bathroom and wc downstairs, and we will have enough money to fund the refurbishment. toink! Sana may mag donate na charity..nyahaha! Gusto ko kasi e renovate and buong house talaga, and take note we have to buy sofas, tv, dining table etc. I noticed kasi interior designing is one of my passion..totoo *wink*. May mga nag donate na, and thanks to you all..Sana meron pa..hehe. Sana the DIY book that we bought will be a good guide for us learning our DIY skills...We offer this plans to you oh Lord..Thank you sa blessings!

8 Makenade Avenue

After how many months of searching and looking for a property for us to move in, at last we found the right place for us! House hunting is not easy, they and I say as well it a very depressing stage. Why? First and foremost the case would be commonly; You find a right house in a wrong location or you're in the right location but in a wrong house! See what I mean?

Photobucket

We experienced those whilst we were on our journey to house hunting. And the most stressful of all is that when  you are looking at houses in the Internet, you always like the house way over your budget! toink! hehe.. Anyhow I am so happy now cos finally we found the right house for us. A 2 bedroom semi-detached house, with the advantage of parking area and our own shed. With a lovely front garden and a greenhouse at the back, a bathroom upstairs, dining room and WC downstairs. All of these I haven't seen in the most terraced houses we viewed which is why we liked it. There are some things to do like changing the bathrooms cos the colours are so dated, carpets and wall papers. All fairly cosmetics so hopefully it wouldn't be so bad. After we come back from our holiday, it's time to rock on our DIY skill! whitweew! B&Q, The Range, here we come! I'm so excited to do interior designing on our house to be, friends feel free to extend your help..hehe.  Thank you Lord for another blessing, hope things go well with our mortgage application and our up coming holiday..thank you loads for so many blessings! :)
