Report of Marriage

Being married to a wonderful English man is one thing I profoundly thank God for. But as most of us here in blogging world with foreign husband know, the joy of being married and finally be with our man comes with a cost! From our hubbies travel, our wedding, processing of our visa and so on and so forth. A lot of things to do and prepare before and after marriage. It's a pain really especially the queuing and waiting in the visa centre and of course the cost of each paper works and visa! Bunny paid more than half a grand on my fiancee visa and last time I renewed my fiancee visa to spouse visa,it cost him another less than a grand! Oh well it doesn't end there, there's still one or two visa to be paid and some paper works or legalities to apply for. One is our Report of Marriage and the other is my passport Change of name.

I tell you what, we got a problem with this change of name when I applied for a job here. Because my passport is still in my maiden name  when I renewed my visa and so the UK Border followed my passport and still put my maiden name in my visa card even though I presented our marriage certificate. So when I applied for a job I of course used my Burr surname and that's when the problem came in cos in my records I am still Valeriano aside from my MC but I used Burr on my job application form. They said it would be complicated in my Criminal Check or some employers doesn't allow that so I need to change my name in my passport! It's just ridiculous cos as soon as I change my passport I have to report to UK Border again to have my visa change to my Burr surname and so another money to spend. Bunny and I were thinking if I could just change my name on my next visa renewal wherein I will be a permanent resident to save us money. But yet of course before I applied for change of name I still have to report our Marriage to Philippine Embassy since we have been married here. Two months ago we've been meaning to do it but was hanged cos we can't decide whether it's a sensible thing to do. Actually I've printed the form already, just need to complete the requirements now and arranged which way we apply it, by post or spare a time to go to London where Philippine Embassy is.Sometimes I joke my bunny about marrying me, that it is so expensive so he better behave. And he'll say to me " I won't find anyone else, I've invested too much from you!" haha..You see guys that's how hard being married to a foreign man, but of course aside from money it involves great trust, patience, perseverance and sureness big love to come to this stage! Wooot! :)

What she Wants from him- What he wants from her

Another CC week! Well, I'll go straight to the topic " What we want from each other". Hmmm..when it comes to my hunnybun's time and attention I am so demanding. That's what I really want from him most. He knows that ever since especially when I was in the Philippines, we used to set Saturdays as "Roxxy Time". Which meant he cannot commit to any appointments on that day cos that's our day, MY day. So he often missed his cricket practiced, pub nights with friends and some occasions (except family ones) before. He still does missed some now,hehe..I want me and him moment once in a while like on weekends.I really am a KSP (kulang sa pansin) when it comes to my hunnybun, maybe because I know bumebenta sa kanya ang pagka KSP ko.haha..If he plays in the computer kukulitin ko xa kasi I want a cuddle and if he spends too much time downstairs and I'm just alone upstairs nagagalit ako (di naman kaya ako selfish?hehe). I want his TLC when I'm sick, like last week when I had cold, he made my drinks (honey and lemon), put olbas oil on my back with massage, tap my back when I cough and prepare my meds. Most of all I always want him to listen to me when I talk, his sympathy when I feel homesick and one important thing that I want from him is to understand that I am forever committed to help my family as much as I can. So to top it all,I want him to stay the " James" I knew and fell in love with.
O well, as for my hunnybun I know what he wants from me. He said this to our marriage counsellor before our wedding. He wants me to organise him and his things (abah?!) which I love doing.. hehe. He wants me to lessen my sensitivity (which makes him crazy) and stop over reacting with some things (which I usually do to tease him),let him use the computer for bit longer (no!bleeh..), stop complaining that I am fat (cos I am not, he said..wehehe) and above all he wants me to stop my favourite torture to him, the "silent mode with tiger look".haha..No worries hunnybun, wifey is trying to act maturely now. You see I haven't done it all to you lately (wink!).lol..I've been working at it hunnybun, so spare me more patience which I know you never fail to give me. In 5 years I guess hunny I'll be able to do all of these. haha..I love you so much!

He Knows, I know!

Been so busy today that's why I'm late again with my post. Don't know how to start with this topic as well, can't think properly cos of my headache!grrrr... Anyways when sensitivity? Oh well winner ako diyan! Marrying a foreign guy isn't that easy in some reason, considering we grew and brought up differently. It's a good thing that we had a chance to live together before we got married. In that way we knew each other more, work the differences and be sensitive to each other. In my part sometimes I think I'm overly sensitive in some things. I tend to misunderstood his jokes, talks, and corrections especially when he do that in front of his parents. It feels like he's embarrassing me, I hate it! I just then be on my silent mode which drives him crazy ( ito ang weakness nya!). And what drives me crazy naman is that he's overly sensitive when it comes to me, my needs, wants and feelings. At pag ganun there starts ang walang sawang questions! " Hunny you want this? What do you want to do?What's wrong?haaay, minsan nakakapikon kaya tuloy nasasampal ko pag panay suyo sa akin na mainit ang ulo ko! (mahina lang na sampal)hehe..Sometimes alam ko I'm over sensitive na, though I don't want to I just can't help it lalo na pag may bisita ako. But now I'm working things, I'm not sensitive now though sometimes di ma help, I just put it in positve thoughts. And I know my husband well now kaya I know when is he joking, when is not. And when it comes to him sensitive naman ako, I know if he wants lambing, attention (pag nalilibang ako sa blog) , and my TLC!

Inspire your Marriage

Lets talk about marriage today. How's your marriage going? It's lovely to be in love isn't it? Everything seems so perfect.I'm just more than a month married and it's funny cos sometimes I still can't believe I am already. hehe..I'm still a bit unoriented with my surname.Anyway, let me share to you our marriage book that was a gift to us on our wedding day.

The Nick and Sila Lee marriage book is a gift from our pastor in our church here and the Shara Grylls Marriage Matters is a gift from church friend (James and Sally) thanks guys!. I always take time to read these before I sleep at night especially when i'm in bad mood. This first book Nicky and Sila Lee tells about couples experiences in marriage life, the common arguement and how to endure it. I like it very realistic. And this Marriage Matters of Shara Grylls  like a compilation of the guests advice during Shara's wedding. It's quite funny, I'll share you some of my favourite quotes here.

" A good marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. "
One rule - tell each other you love each other several times a day
Never stop holding hands.
The giving must always exceed the taking.
Be bestfriends
To the husbands-hug and squeeze her daily.
Couples who pray together stays together.
When you're right be silent, when you're wrong admit it staright away.
Marry only for Love
Never sleep with unslove conflicts.
Frequently listen to, appreciate and touch each other.
and my most favourite:
Rule 1: Your wife is always right.
Rule 2: Even when she's wrong, refer to rule 1.

Hopefully I've inspired you with this and remember it's nice to have someone to grow old with.

The Moody Sky and the Moody Me

This the Bakewell Cathedral in Derbyshire. We went here 2 weeks ago for our honeymoon. We just chose the church lane going to a museum which is at the back of the cathedral. And so I thought it was the best time to get photo as well. So my hunny took this while I'm going up the hilly church lane. And I think I wasn't on a good mood on this day, same as the sky, cloudy. Not so good for a first day of tour.

And now this! Look at the sky, so blue and bright. Same as me in the picture, smiling again and hugging my hunny after being so quiet and moody the whole morning. The sky indeed followed my mood!hehehe..
