Last Saturday I was visited by my brother in law's brother (Fr. Monet) who was on his holiday here in England. It was great to see someone from the Philippines and converse in my language again. Though they ddin't stay that long here in Canterbury, we managed to let them see a bit of the city. And since father Monet is a priest, he was keen to visit the famous Canterbury cathedral. I haven't been in there since I came here so last Saturday I had the chance to get in the cathedral and see the beauty of it in my own eyes w/out paying £8.hehe..And today I am going sharing it to you.
This is the front are of the cathedral, the entrance bit after you pay.
And this is the front side view, the entrace to get in the cathedral.
And this is the sculptures and carvings above the entrance door as you can see in the photo above. Very fantastic and perfect work of art.
And this is the inside where you can worship and attend service. And straight that way is where the actual service is held and more to see with your £8.
Closer look of the magnificent ceilings and post.
This is the ceiling of the hallway of that photo above. With England flag designs, and looks like a little shield to me as well.Lovely isn't it? I'll show you more of the inside bits of the cathedral next week. Hope you enjoy the tour!

6 Thoughtful thoughts for Roxxy:
Sounds like a lovely visit! And what a gorgeous Cathedral! I've read about it, always wanted to visit! Your photos are the next best thing, they're superb! Thanks for sharing the fun and the beauty! Enjoy your week! Thanks for your visit, Roxxy, and your comment! Always appreciated!
Sylvia
it's really cool that you were able to take pictures inside the Cathedral. It's really beautiful and impressive inside and out. Hope you're adjusting well in your England life. have a nice week!
Fantastic detailed sculptures. Would love to see this in person too. I guess they need the entrance fees to maintain this building. Totally worth it.
Buti at may Pinoy kang nakakwentuhan kahit sandali lang. :)
It is magnificent! I visited several cathedrals in the UK but missed Canterbury-- they do start to look alike after awhile-- the castles too-- but I never get enough!
Thanks for the visit! I'm an anglophile so am following your blog.
beautiful architecture. and so very lovely the colors. How did you end up in Thailand? I used to live there for almost a year.
What a beutiful Cathedral and great architecture !
