C for Chatsworth House. A 737 hecatres which is a family house of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, a working community as well and a living landscape.Well, this place had been used as one of the setting in a popular English movie. Anyone know? One of Jane Austen collection? One of my favourite movie, "Pride and Prejudice". Have you watched it? A 1995 television drama serial, adapted in six episodes by Andrew Davies from Jane Austen's novel of the same name, originally published in 1813. They made it into movie as well starring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as the handsome Mr. Darcy. I like the Mr. Darcy in the original one, Colin Firth.hehe.. if you know them. Anyway, this place is so breath taking, it's a place that you'll probably finish your camera memory card no matter how many gigabyte it is cos everywhere you look is so picturesque. Haay...a very romantic place as well. Mind you, a day won't be enough to tour Chatsworth. We spent almost a day there but haven't explored much. We just toured the inside of the house and the bits of garden and maze. That was so romantic, we ate our lunch under the tree to shelter us from the rain. And after that we explored the garden, the rain never stopped us. But half way through the garden, my feet hurts cos I was wearing a boots 2 inches high and the garden was so massive. A long walk required so my hunny carried me on his back while walking under the rain. Haay so sweet wasn't it? A perfect honeymoon indeed!
This is the top part of the cascade where water starts and if you look closer on right side, the water comes out from the mouth of the fish. And by the way I'm the pink lady u see standing.hehe |
What a lovely view! This is the C for Cascade. A huge man- made water feature. There's a pipe at the bottom of this cascade which feeds other fountains and carries water to flush lavatories in the house and stables. I'll share to you more photos of inside and outside Chatsworth house on my next posts. If you happen to visit England specifically Derbyshire, best to visit Chatsworth House.
